BURLINGTON COUNTY COLLEGE'S NEW SCIENCE INCUBATOR AWARDED $60,000 GRANT

Burlington County College issued the following news release:

Burlington County College has been awarded a $60,000 grant from The Commission on Science and Technology. The funding, in addition to previous grants from The Commission on Science and Technology totaling $1.1 million, will be used to purchase scientific equipment and information technology infrastructure for BCC's New Science Incubator scheduled to open in winter 2007.

Located adjacent to the High Technology Small Business Incubator on BCC's Mount Laurel Campus, the $4 million Science Incubator will provide 12,800 square feet for 11 interconnected laboratory modules designed to house early stage and startup scientific companies. Each lab will be 600 square feet and equipped with a fume hood, lab sink, casework and back up power. Additionally, each tenant will have access to modern scientific equipment, office equipment, High Speed Internet, conference rooms, a resource library, entrepreneurial workshops and seminars.

On Tuesday, August 8, 2006 invited guests will have the opportunity to take a first glimpse at the Science Incubator during a "Hard Hat Tour" of the building. To recognize the importance and significance of the construction project for the College, this tour will give participants a closer look at the progress made so far and the vision BCC has for the Science Incubator. The tour will begin with refreshments in the High Technology Small Business Incubator at 100 Technology Way. Hard hats will be provided.
