SYDNEY, Feb 25 AAP - The dismal failure of the world's first real hope of coming upwith an AIDS vaccine should not be painted as a "doom and gloom" scenario, Australianexperts said today.
Hopes of finding the Holy Grail of AIDS research - a shield against HIV - were shatteredwhen US company VaxGen announced overnight that its four-year AIDSVAX trial had failedto prevent HIV infection in the general population.
