Fed: Captain awaits confirmation of report = 2
Captain Arne Rinnan said he heard reports of Indonesia's offer on Perth radio and was
expecting to discuss the situation with Oslo soon.
"The problem is that we have 438 survivors on board and they are really talking of
jumping overboard," he told AAP.
"Then it might be your problem in the end anyway."
Mr Rinnan said he was more afraid for the asylum seekers' safety than for that of the crew.
"There is talk that they will go crazy, whatever that means," he said.
"We might have a situation.
"We are not really worried about own own safety anymore."
